 Family Seal Activity

Some folks have asked about putting the Great Seal on the back of the Family Seal.  You do not have to do this.  If you did, it is just fine!

Be 'VERY' careful and ensure that you follow the WILF for this .

Please use your own drawings.  This will make the seal uniquely yours!

Your seal 'must' include the following:

  • clear balance of between 4-8 appropriate SYMBOLS organized in a symmetrical way

  • a title

  • a  motto

  • whole seal inside a shape--this is the border/edge

  • each symbol clearly named AND explained

  • NEATLY and colorfully presented.

  • no writing inside seal apart from the motto

I strongly suggest that you do a rough draft to show me.

Mrs. Moore, Where can we get the pictures for the family seal (ex: magazines, draw them or clip art)? Thanks, Rich

Hi Rich! I would prefer if you drew them--that makes the seal more uniquely yours! Good question.

Mrs.Moore,
Can you have more than 8 symbols on the seal?
Thanks,Ben

Hi Ben!

I'd like you to stick to 8 as the maximum--otherwise, the strength of your other symbols will get lost. Concentrate on finding creative ways to symbolize your family's ideals. Pick your strongest 4-8 and use those.
