Homework

Carefully work through the prepositional phrase packet pages 6-9.

Enjoy this video:

Review your power plan.  Is the main idea big enough to support your 3 P2s?  Is it too broad?  Do all of your P2s talk about P1 AND flow together in a reasonable way?  Are your P3s specific????  Do you have Proper nouns, dates, statistics, facts, or detailed information?  Do you need to narrow your P2s to get to strong P3s?

Finish your rough draft of animal adventure.  Don't forget to have a copy with which you can work tomorrow in class!

Mrs.Moore I'm really confused on pg.8 in the prepositional phrases packet. Also were we supposed to finish the adventure story rough draft? That's what I did and wrote in my planner

Hi Mallory!
I don't have my packet home with me. Don't worry about it if you are having difficulty. Come see me during morning work, and I can help. Yes to finishing rough draft.

Have a good evening!

Dear Mrs. Moore,

Does a preposition always have to be in a sentence?

Thank you,

India

India,

Good question. We can only know if a word is a preposition if it is context. After, for example, can be either a preposition or subordinating conjunction. Only when we see it in a sentence with other words can we make that determination. Does that help?

Dear Mrs. Moore,

Thank you for your reply! On a website, it said that a sentence can end with a preposition. Is that true? The example was: 'What did you step ON'. The person said that it would need to be there because 'what did you step' wouldn't make sense. The person also said you don't here people say 'On what did you step on'.

Thank you,

India
