Subject Predicate Review:


To decide on types of subjects and predicates, remember that each individual clause will have its own subject and predicate.  Find the verb and put in the slash right before the verb.  Everything to the left will be the subject. Everything to the right will be the predicate.
1.  Simple subjects are the nouns which are "doing the action".  Simple predicates are the "actions" themselves.  2.Complete subjects have describing words in them.   Complete predicates have more than just the verb--they also have describing words.
3. Compound subjects have 2 or more nouns doing the same action.  Compound predicates have just 2 or more actions--NO describing words.
4.  Compound complete subjects have more than one noun doing the action with describing words.  Compound predicates have more than 1 action with describing words in this half of the sentence.
