State Report Final thoughts:
As you are working on your state reports this week-end, don't forget to look through the points I gave you on Friday--and DON"T FORGET TO GET RID OF LINKING VERBS!! BEWARE OF BANNED WORDS!!! Here they are:
1. Do your sentences flow together
2. Did you start sentences with a variety of parts of speech? Find 2 of each super starter--infinitive, participle, doubles, adjectives, adverbs...
3. Have you used a variety of SSS techniques? Find 1 in each section
4. Have you used a variety of GRAAB techniques? Find one per section
5. Have you used different hooks (and not the same hook over and over)
6. Can you clearly identify the main idea of each paragraph?
7. Can you find a minimum of 3 clear facts which support your main idea in that paragraph
8. Do you mix facts and showing language to help maintain interesting writing
9. Are you rnumbers and facts unique to just your state?
10. Does your intro paragraph contain on general statement per component and end with a transition sentence which makes the reader want to learn more?
11. Does your concluding sentence start with a general statement, follow with details from each section, and finish with a restate of your opinion about your state?
12. Space and a half? comic Sans? Title? Power zero quote? No double return for paragraphs? Your name? Works cited?

there are some weird things going on with my groups google docs. someone put something about princess diana and someone left a note saying it was good and there name was joy but we do not have a joy. princess diana has nothing to do with our leader. a document titled work cited mla was posted but when i clicked on it nothing came up. i logged into the write acount and all of our other documents are there.

I'll help you on Monday.
Mrs. Moore you said to put the website for some of your information for State Report if it's not one of the CLS websites, and I can't remember what websites I used at all. All I know is I used google for the search engine what should I do?
Mallory
Mallory, don't worry too much about that. Typically, you should record the web address as your citing for internet research in your notes. if you don't have this, just be aware that you'll need to keep track for future papers.
